Rules

WCF rules will be applied.

1) The team listed first on the Draw plays the Red Stones. Games will be a maximum of 8 ends, one extra end will be played if needed. If the extra end is blanked, the team without the hammer will win the game.

2) After 1 hour and 40 minutes, a signal will announce the end of the time limit: the current end must be completed (the last stone has to be delivered) and one further end shall be played (to a maximum of 8 ends). In the Playoffs the teams are playing 8 ends without time limit.

3) At the start of a scheduled game the teams that are not on the ice in time will be penalized one end, the hammer and two points for every 10 minutes late. When the team is 30 minutes late, the game will be forfeited.

4) There will be one timeout per team per game but no time will be added to the time limit. We would kindly like to ask you not to prolong the game more than necessary. When a time out is called BOTH COACHES may speak to their teams but once the Coach who called the Time Out is finished both Coaches must leave. The umpires have the right to speak to Skips to speed up a game.

5) Group rankings will be based on

 a) win/lost record

b) head to head winner

c) DSC

No tiebrakes. DSC is an average LSD (discarding the highest one).

6) On Friday, before each teams 1st game, one player will throw a practice LSD then one LSD toward the Home End. Any player can throw the LSD and it can be Clockwise or Counterclockwise. Please wait for the LSD to be measured by the Umpire. This LSD will be used to determine Hammer in the 1st game.

        7)  After each Round Robin game one player from each team will play an LSD starting with a player from the winning team. It can be Clockwise or Counterclockwise. Please wait for the LSD to be measured by the Umpire. This LSD will determine Hammer in the following game and be part of your total LSD score.

8) There will be no pre-game practice.

Note:

The measuring will be done by the umpires.
The LSD and DSC results will be published.
The EJCT is considered an elite training tour for teams aspiring to compete at the World Junior Events (A or B); therefore, it will be the policy of the EJCT to comply with the new WCF Sweeping & Brush Material Rules introduced at the 2016 Congress. This means only approved WCF materials will be allowed for sweeping during EJCT events
