Historical result for Czech women at the WWCh

24. 3. 2017

The Czech team led by Anna Kubešková ended up at the seventh place at the World Women Championship in Beijing. After losses against Korea 3:10 and Canada 3: 9 on Wednesday, they defeated Germany 5: 3 on Thursday morning and still held a chance to advance to the semifinals of the World Championship.

They needed to beat the strong Scottish team (skip Eve Muirhead) in the last game of the round robin. This exciting game was decided in the last end, unfortunatelly, it was a mistake made with the last Czech stone which brought the victory to the hands of Scots.

Despite this bitter defeat, the Czech national team ranked on the seventh place, the highest position for the Czech women ever. Thank you and congratulations for such a successful performance at the Women’s World Championship!
